Waldorf Enrichment Classes in Des Moines, Iowa
It is hard to find childcare during teacher work days and conference days and at other odd times if you are not already a member in a child-care center. I will be offering parents a service to help them overcome this problem! Instead of leaving your child at a crowded daycare or daycamp on these days you can pay the same or less to leave them with a small group of children who will spend the day doing creative activities like knitting, woodworking, painting, theater and much more! I ran a program similar to this in the community I lived in 2 years ago and I received a note from one of the participants a few days ago that inspired me. She said "You should start another program like you had here. My kids still talk about all the things they did and learned and the people here in the community still talk about how there is nothing as good since you left."

There may be additional dates available - I need a minimum of four children to open up additional dates. I also do "homeschool enrichment days" with small groups of homeschooled children.
DAILY SCHEDULE (For Full-Days Off)
7:30am-8:30am Early DROP OFF if needed - please call me and tell me if you will drop early. Free Play.
Program does not start until 8:30am
8:30 am - Circle Time & Music
9:30am - Making Bread/ Eating Bread for Snack! 10:00am - Planned Activity
11:00am - Making Lunch Together/the Table 12:00 noon - Eating Lunch Together
1:00 pm - Playing outside (if weather permits)
2:00 pm - Planned Activity
3:30 pm - Snack and Free Play/ Organized Games and Projects/Reading, Nap or Quiet Time - Child's Choice. PROGRAM ENDS AT 3:30
6:00 pm - Latest Pick-up Time (Pick up starts at 3:00 pm). If you need to pick up past 4:00 pm please tell me.
NOTE: I hold a degree in nutrition. I can accomodate any allergy restrictions your child has. We do have pets - so if your child is allergic to pets that would be a problem. All pets are very kid friendly (they love to be played with) and can be kept separate from the children if needed. This is a non-smoking home!

West Des Moines & Des Moines School Dates & Schedule Below For any of the sessions I need at least a 24-hour notice that your child is coming to the session. The charge per session is 35.00 for each day session or 25.00 per session if you sign up for all the sessions and pay at one time. For after-school sessions the charge is $7.00 per session (approx. 3pm-6pm). Snack and transport are provided. For early-out sessions where the child arrives earlier than 2:30pm the charge is $15.00 per session. Snack and transport are provided. If your child wants to attend all or most of the sessions you need to reserve your space in each session as soon as possible as the regular spaces do fill up quickly.

SNOW DAYS: If there is a snow day but the roads are still good enough for you to drop the kids at my home I will hold additional enrichment classes on that day for "regulars". You can just call me that day to tell me if you need to bring them by. No need to reserve or pay ahead. Payment of $35.00 due on drop off on that day.
SICK DAYS: If your child is sick you can call me on a as-needed basis. They can stay at my home during the school day and until 5pm. I am really not worried about catching anything. I was a teacher for a year and didn't catch most of what the kids have and I am good at preventing that. Please leave instructions as to what their needs are and bring favorite videos and blankets, etc...However, I have had a lot of experience with sick kids (I have 3) so don't worry - I'm good at taking care of them. I find that most of the time when the kids are too sick for school all they need to do anyway is rest. Charge is $35.00 per day and due at drop-off or pick-up. If they have any medicines please leave those with instructions. I am a Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Herbalist so if left with no instructions they may get some chamomile tea, etc...
